Job Title (Job Code): Corporate Accounting Controller

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

• The Corporate Accounting Controller oversees all accounting activities of both financial and management accounting ensuring compliance to statutory, tax regulations and internal controls
• The role is based out of Alstom Global Finance Centre in Bangalore and will support Singapore business
• Objectives:
  • Ensure Accounting bookkeeping and Finance duties of the legal entity are performed accurately & timely
  • Ensure compliance with local Tax laws
  • Ensure compliance to Internal Control rules
  • Ensure the correct application of Finance rules (IFRS)
  • Streamline accounting processes
  • Ensure month-end closing and accurate & timely Management Reporting to the Group
  • Control Site overhead costs, compute hourly rates and assess under/over-recovery

MAIN RESPONSABILITIES

This list of responsibilities is not comprehensive and may be amended at any time by manager/supervisor

Accounting & Reporting:

• Act as the central point of co-ordination of activities between the P2P, R2R, O2C, Inter-company teams in GFC and the site teams like Sourcing, Supply Chain, Finance
• Co-ordinate between BPOs, accounting teams and operational teams to ensure compliance to defined core model
• Monitor and co-ordinate resolutions in key items like AP backlog, Aged AP balances, GRIR, Advances, Inter-company mismatches, Inter-company over-dues
• Perform 1st level review of all Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations
• Track, chase and facilitate actions towards speedy closure of open items, risks / opportunities in the Balance Sheet

• Monitor leases and provide timely inputs to lease accounting team for timely and accurate valuation, recognition of leases in the financials
• Timely & accurate Month-end, Half-year & Year-end closing & reconciliations
• Perform basic Tax filings, reporting, transfer pricing reports preparation with the support of Tax consultants \
• Ensure payments to suppliers are made on time
• Prepare Statutory Financial Statements, liase with external auditors during statutory audits

Treasury :

• Perform local treasury activities like cash pooling, hedging initiation, cancellations, roll overs, hedge accounting
• Administer bank signing authorities in co-ordination with legal / banks

Overhead control:

• Assist in Overhead control
  • Assist various departments with Cost Centre annual budgets, actuals and reviews
  • Prepare various Cost Centre reports
  • Analysis of the under/over-recovery for the site
• Perform self – assessment of accounting internal controls owned by site
• Support cash management by origin
• Act as the Key User for ERP CO module
• Liaise with Group experts (SAP, Tax, Treasury) as and when required

MAIN REQUIRED COMPETENCES

Educational Requirements

Mandatory:

• Master’s degree in Finance or equivalent (Chartered Accountant)
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in accounting, reporting and audits
• Experience of working in a MNC with accounting shared services
• Experience in SAP, MS Office, Consolidation and Reporting tools

Desirable:

• Long-term accounting exposure background would be a plus
