Environmental Assistant

Responsibilities:

● Assist with the implementation of environmental programs and initiatives, including waste reduction, energy conservation, and pollution prevention.

● Conduct research on environmental issues, regulations, and best practices, and compile findings into reports and presentations.

● Assist with data collection and analysis for environmental assessments, surveys, and audits.

● Help coordinate and participate in environmental monitoring activities, such as water quality testing, air sampling, and wildlife surveys.

● Support outreach and educational efforts, including developing educational materials, organizing workshops and events, and engaging with community stakeholders.

● Assist with the preparation and submission of environmental permits, reports, and compliance documentation.

● Maintain accurate records and documentation related to environmental activities, including filing systems and databases.

● Provide administrative support to the environmental team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and managing correspondence.

● Assist with the development and implementation of environmental policies, procedures, and training programs.

● Stay up-to-date on environmental regulations, trends, and emerging issues, and communicate relevant information to the team.

Qualifications:

● Bachelors degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or a related field (preferred).

● Previous experience or coursework in environmental science, sustainability, or conservation.

● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.

● Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.

● Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a willingness to take initiative.

● Passion for environmental conservation and sustainability, with a desire to make a positive impact.

● Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.

● Valid drivers license and ability to travel to various project sites as needed.
